Impressive Luther Seminary facts from the new V.P.

Greetings from Luther Seminary! My name is Carrie Carroll and I am the new vice president of enrollment management and student affairs. I started at Luther at the end of February. During these last four months, I have learned some incredible facts about Luther that I want to share with you.

  • Over the past two years, the Luther Seminary faculty published more than 70 books!
  • Luther Seminary is the largest seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Our size allows for a more diverse offering of programs and courses. We have 46 full-time faculty members. Your options at Luther are unparalleled!
  • The neighborhood surrounding the Seminary is one of the most coveted for St. Paul residents. The local coffee shop, restaurants, gift shops--and the coolest Speedy Mart I've ever been in--are all within walking distance of the Seminary.
  • Students come from all over the United States and the world to attend Luther. We also offer distributed learning (online courses combined with intensive on-campus offerings) degree programs for Master of Divinity students and Master of Arts students with a concentration in Children, Youth and Family Ministry. All students can take online courses as a part of their degree plan, too.

I also had the opportunity to attend Commencement at the end of May. I found it to be an inspirational and moving experience. Graduates stood, along with their families and friends, to be recognized for the commitments they have made to God's work in our world. I am grateful to be a part of this academic and faith community. I look forward to welcoming you into the community soon!
