Pastoral Care

The seminary's pastor is called to a ministry of Word and Sacrament and oversees worship and discipleship in the seminary community.

The pastor is available as confidential counselor and confessor. In conjunction with the dean of students the pastor coordinates activities in the area of community life. When there is sickness or crisis, the seminary pastor is available for pastoral care, visitation, and matters of hospitality.

The seminary pastor takes an active role in the ceremonial activities of the seminary and assumes responsibility in such areas music, community health, and the fine arts.

Luther Seminary's pastor, The Rev. Dr. John Martin Mann, has more than 30 years of pastoral experience, including campus ministry and launching two outreach ministries: Iglesia Luterana La Trinidad and Red Door Outreach Mission, both in Canton, Ohio.
