Discipleship

What does it mean to be a disciple of Christ? In your weekly discipleship group you'll grow together in faith as you explore the five marks of discipleship:

  • Attention to the Word of God
  • Prayer
  • Fellowship (Koinonia)
  • Encouragement of vocation
  • Service

Each discipleship group establishes how these five marks of discipleship are honored during a particular semester.

Who participates?

All degree-seeking students in the Master of Arts, Master of Sacred Music, and the Master of Divinity programs belong to a discipleship group throughout their studies at Luther Seminary. Each group also includes a member of the faculty. Groups ordinarily meet weekly on Wednesdays at 11 a.m.

Commuter Students

If you're a commuter student or live at a distance from campus you'll have options for participating in your assigned group. You might arrange to be on campus, participate via phone, e-mail or online discussions, or through commitment to common disciplines.
