Regulations for residential living
Students taking less than a full course load must request permission from the housing director to remain in on-campus housing.
Key and housing deposit
A $500 deposit and first month's rent is due and payable when the housing contract is signed. The deposit is refunded when the apartment is vacated in a clean and undamaged condition and the keys have been returned.
If a student has any outstanding account balance at the seminary, the refund is applied to that account.
Apartment rent is billed each semester. If a student receives financial aid, the semester rent amount will be deducted from the financial aid award. If a student does not receive financial aid, rent payments can be made monthly in the Business Office. If a student is delinquent in rent payments and has not made satisfactory arrangements for payment in the Business Office, the student may lose the privilege of living in seminary housing as well as the right to register for courses.
When a student chooses to leave a Luther Seminary apartment, a 30-day notice is required by the Housing Office.
