Aging and Health
This program is designed to strengthen both theological roots and pastoral understandings of life span issues as they relate to the church's aging ministries. We have planned our program for Christian leaders who have been called to ministry with older adults, including those serving in congregations and nonprofit organizations.
The Aging and Health program:
- Provides a foundation of pastoral care theory and practice for ministry with older adults.
- Fosters growth in leadership skills within a congregation or another
institution with a program in aging ministries.
- Enhances and deepens the theological integration of faith and
health for those involved in ministry with older adults.

"The church has a wonderful opportunity in the coming
years -- a ministry to, with and by older adults! Everyone is aware of
the 'age wave' but few are fully prepared for the challenges and opportunities
this change will bring to our ministries. Luther Seminary is
committed to helping the church get ready!"
- Janet Ramsey, associate professor of congregational care leadership
