Working Preacher Presents:

The Craft of Preaching

Luther Seminary
Olson Campus Center
1490 Fulham Street

Saint Paul, Minn.

Oct. 3-5

Conference: Oct. 4-5

Do you ever wonder what’s behind the scenes of some of the sermons you hear at big preaching conferences with famous preachers? Have you always wanted a practical preaching conference where you can learn some new methods for constructing a sermon and honing your homiletical skills?

Three top teachers of preachers will preach a sermon and then tell you how they got there, with plenty of time for Q&A. Workshops will provide hands-on experience with practitioners dedicated to homiletical issues. Bring your specific examples and questions to ask. Foundational, collegial and encouraging, this conference is a unique opportunity to tend the craft of your preaching among peers old and new.

Want more? A pre-conference master class opportunity is available for those who wish to work one-on-one with one of our speakers and a peer group.

Pre-conference master class (limited to 48 participants): Oct. 3 - CLASS IS FULL

The pre-conference master class gives participants direct access to individualized sermon evaluation from our presenters and featured workshop leaders. With a limited enrollment, participants will have the opportunity to get feedback that addresses specific issues that need attention within their preaching. Like a music master class, others in the class learn by listening and observing. Participants will also have the option to continue the experience past the conference through Luther Seminary’s Lilly Endowment-funded project, “The Learning Preacher: Instilling a Trajectory of Lifelong Homiletical Instruction.

Participants in the master class are required to bring a prepared sermon to preach to their small group.
