The temple to Artemis drew worshipers from many parts of the world. Figurines of Artemis, like those shown here, were made in Ephesus. Acts 19 refers to a group of Ephesian silversmiths, who made small silver shrines for the goddess. They derived income by selling these to visiting worshipers.
