Coffee Cup Sunday |
| |
Looking for a simple and concrete way
to start connecting Sunday to Monday in your congregation?
Host a coffee hour themed
around daily work in the world. Invite folks to bring coffee mugs
representing their daily callings or places of investment. A
great mixer, this activity provides a fun occasion for congregants to
discover/rediscover each other's Monday-Saturday lives.

Sermon:
"WHERE Am I Called?"
First in a three part
series on the where, how, and why of calling. Special thanks to
Bob Ericson of Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown, MN. |
| |
"Luther
exalts common, ordinary labor and our roles in life as something God
"calls" us to do. Wherever we are, there we are called. If we cannot
serve God there; if God cannot work through us there to serve our
neighbor in love, then we should change. But our "calling" is nothing
less than participating with God in caring for his creation and getting
our neighbor loved. That makes what we do "sacred."
