Process for Closing Student LutherNet Accounts
Luther Seminary is now offering it's graduates Alumni/ae Lifetime E-mail accounts (as well as other online services and resources.)
Find out more about Alumni/ae Lifetime E-mail and other Alumni/ae Account details.
Here's the process for closing out your account:
1. You will be notified as to when you will no longer be able to use your account. Plan ahead for your e-mail account to be closed by advising contacts of your new e-mail address.
2. Any time prior to your last day of using your LutherNet account, we recommend you set up an automatic reply to all your incoming e-mails by using the message filtering option. If you are no longer using your LutherNet account this can be done well before August 1st.
3. To save any or all of your LutherNet e-mail to a different or new e-mail account see: /computer_services/account/studemailarchive.asp . This must be done by the end of the last day you are allowed access to your account.
4. Your LutherNet password will be changed to prevent access after your last day of scheduled use. Graduating student's accounts are closed August 1st each year after a warning and a chance for you to let us know if you are continuing study or have some other justifying reason to keep the account active.
5. Thirty days after your last day of access your e-mail account will be disabled and any e-mail addressed to the account will bounce back to the sender with no message.
Optional: Students can have a copy of their H: drive burned to CD-ROM on request. There is a $5 charge for the CD and burning it, $8 if you want us to send it to you. Contact the Help Desk if you are interested at (651) 641-3462 or e-mail helpdesk@luthersem.edu .
