Application Timeline

Your completed application for entrance is due February 15 of the year you intend to enroll.

  March Completed applications are due February 15 of the year you intend to enroll.
  April Notification of acceptance will be mailed.
  May 1 To reserve a place in the cohort, those who have been offered admission are required to confirm acceptance of admission and make a deposit of $400 by May 1. (This amount, however, will be deductible from the first quarterly payment of tuition due July 1.)
  July 1 First quarterly payment of tuition due.

Seminar Dates

Most sessions are held on the campus of Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. Some sessions may be conducted off-site.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition for the entire five-year program is $10,000, payable in ten quarterly payments beginning on July 1 prior to the start of classes. The program is structured to enable students to complete it in five years. Students continuing after the fifth year will be assessed a $500 per year continuation fee.

There is an annual technology/library fee of $100. Required one-time fees include a $600 thesis project fee and a $100 graduation fee. View the Academic Catalog for a complete list of fees.

Travel and Living Expenses

Students will be required to bear travel and living expenses. Limited housing is typically available in Stub Hall on Luther Seminary’s campus. Information about on campus and other housing options is available upon receipt of a confirming deposit.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Many persons enrolled in D.Min. programs receive significant financial support from their congregations, synods, judicatories, denominational agencies, etc. At present, no scholarship or other financial aid is directly available from Luther Seminary.
