Please join us for an enriching tour of the Reformation sights and sounds in Germany, Oct. 22-Nov. 2. Professional local tour guides will lead and teach us as we discover Reformation treasures in image and music as we prepare for the 500th anniversary of this world-changing event.
This tour is organized by two Luther Seminary staff members: Paul Daniels, head of arts and archives; and Mary Steeber, coordinator of volunteer programs.
We will visit several sites on this tour, including Eisenach and the Wartburg Castle. In Eisenach, we will take a guided tour of the Wartburg Castle and see the room where Martin Luther hid out after he was kidnapped by his prince following his excommunication. This room is where Martin Luther made his translation of the New Testament.
After visiting the castle, we will visit the Bach House to get a taste of what houses looked like in the 18th century. Also in the Bach House we will see a collection of antique instruments and hear a brief demonstration of them. Following, we will return to Erfurt for dinner and an overnight stay.
Other stops planned on the tour include Leipzig, Weimar and Wittenburg. To see the full itinerary, visit us online. We hope you will consider joining us for this incredible trip! If you have questions, please contact Paul Daniels at pdaniels@luthersem.edu or 651-641-3205.
