“It is not only my efforts that have led me down this road to ministry, but God has worked through so many different people to lead me to this call,” says M.Div. student Dan Hanson. “I’m grateful for the many people, most of whom I will never meet, who make my formation at Luther Seminary possible through their financial support. Thank you for helping me and all students at Luther answer God’s call.”
In a couple of weeks, Dan and his classmates will begin a new semester. But before classes begin, we want to take a moment to say, “Thank you!” Here are just a few of the ways that your prayers and gifts have made a difference for students and church leaders this past academic year.
- Thanks to the commitment of many generous donors, 86 percent of incoming students received merit-based scholarship support this year.
- Donors’ generous gifts make a significant impact, covering more than half of Luther Seminary’s operating revenue when combining outright gifts and endowment income.
- Nearly 1,800 pastors and preachers from every U.S. state, plus Canada and other international countries, gathered to learn, worship and be restored and renewed at the Festival of Homiletics in Denver this spring.
- Church leaders from more than 200 countries and territories around the world are inspired by WorkingPreacher.org, which received 9 million visits in the past year.
- A daily devotion written entirely by Luther alumni, God Pause reaches nearly 15,000 people via email and more than 5,000 people through its Facebook page every day.
