With the 500th anniversary of the Reformation approaching, now is an excellent time to explore the cities in Germany where it all began. From May 17-26, Mary Jane Haemig, professor of church history and director of the Reformation Research Program, will lead a Reformation heritage tour through Germany. Along the way, experienced local guides will contribute to this fascinating and enriching tour of Luther’s homeland.
The tour group will travel through Wittenberg, Torgau, Leipzig, Erfurt, Eisenach, Wartburg Castle, Eisleben and Berlin. On May 17 you will travel to Berlin, where you will catch a bus to Wittenberg, the town where Luther lived for 36 years, preached thousands of times and famously posted his 95 Theses. From there you will travel to other important locations of the Reformation, as well as key locations of the Peaceful Revolution of 1989.
We hope you will consider joining us for this incredible trip! The tour is being organized by Mary Jane Haemig and Mary Steeber, coordinator of volunteer programs.
