This season of Lent is an invitation to renewal. Renewal in the midst of daunting challenges can seem like an overly optimistic pipe dream. Yet in this season of Lent we are invited to a journey of prayer and renewal rooted in the one who is the hope of the world. We are working through our renewal as a seminary and invite you to join us in this prayerful journey.
The renewal of our work as a seminary is vital. The need for pastors and deacons continues to outpace graduates in our seminaries. Congregations in some parts of the church long for a pastor or youth leader who hears God’s call and is able to respond. Imagination and nimbleness on how best we can fulfill this mission to prepare leaders and imagination for how to meet these challenges in service to the Gospel continues. We have hope, or rather the one who is the hope of the world has us. God calls and renews not despite the challenges and difficulties but in the very midst of the difficulties and complexities of our calls to bear witness to the one who is the hope of the world.
We want to help you see that the one who is the hope of the world has you too for whatever needs renewing in your faith journey. We invite you in this season of Lent to tap our Lent devotional for your daily walk with the one who is the hope of the world.
If you are open to a post Easter preaching renewal, come join us at the Festival of Homiletics. We are nearing almost 2,000 registrations so don’t delay. If you are looking for creative ways to mark the Reformation please plan on joining us for the Reformation Festival in the fall. May God, the hope of the world, renew you in this Lenten journey.
