On May 16, Luther Seminary alum Rev. Lydia Posselt will preach the closing sermon at the Lutheran World Federation Assembly in Windhoek, Namibia. Posselt’s sermon was chosen from ten finalists by an international jury and 6,000 online voters. Her submission, “The Jesus Parade” is a sermon on Galatians 5:1, 22-26 that attends to personal and societal sin and how God heals and redeems. Entering the contest was something that Posselt did in tribute to the many women preachers and pastors who have mentored her.
Posselt graduated from Luther Seminary in May 2011 and serves a full time call at Family of God Lutheran Church in Buckingham, Pa.
