Please join us at Luther Seminary on Monday, Jan. 15, as we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will reflect on the significance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s influence, as well as ways in which we can learn from and live out his legacy.
The Rev. Kenneth Wheeler will be speaking. He’s a retired pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America who has served as an anti-racism trainer in the Greater Milwaukee Synod and on the board for the Commission for Multicultural Ministries. In 2012, he was a recipient of the Milwaukee Black Excellence Award, honored as a religious leader. Wheeler has traveled to Tanzania to study the growth of the church there, as well as to Kenya as part of a delegation to engage in missional conversations between North and South partners. He has a bachelor’s degree in religion from Concordia College (Moorhead, Minn.), and a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary (Columbus, Ohio).
We hope you will join us for this important event! It is free and open to the public. No RSVP is required. Click here to find maps and directions to Luther Seminary.
