The future of the church is dependent upon strong intentional stewardship leadership. The mission of the Center for Stewardship Leaders is to develop the capacities of Luther Seminary to equip stewardship leaders for Christian communities.
The Center provides continual stewardship resources in two ways. Web site www.luthersem.edu/stewardship provides articles, videos, Bible students, book reviews and sermons. Stewardship for the 21st Century, a free weekly newsletter, equips and encourages stewardship leaders in local congregations by connecting them with thoughtful and inspirational resources for use in newsletter articles, individual and committee devotions, discussion starters, sermons, and Bible studies.
The Center also provides financial stewardship courses, ways for students to express faithful stewardship through personal financial management and continuing stewardship education for church leaders.
Jerry Hoffman, director of the Center, says, “All life is a gift from God. Stewardship is our grateful response to all that God has entrusted to us. In baptism we are called to be stewards and entrusted with the privilege and the responsibility to act on behalf of God in all aspects of our lives. We seek to live in the good news that in Christ we are free from the bondage to scarcity to live an abundant life in Christ.”
