Mary Hess, associate professor of educational leadership, recommends two books this month. The first is “Media Violence and Christian Ethics” by Jolyon Mitchell.
“This is an excellent book that lays out the broad sweep of the most current research on media and violence, and then frames it within Christian ethics,” says Hess. “It is a key book for pastors, teachers and anyone who cares about Christian response to media and violence.”
Hess’ second recommendation is “Here Comes Everybody: The Power of Organizing Without Organizations” by Clay Shirky.
Hess describes this book as “a compelling, thoughtful and accessible look at the ways in which social media technologies are transforming how we organize our lives.”
