As Christians living in the 21st century, we are truly on a road to Emmaus. Change is all around us. Much of it is upending all that we have known and held dear.
In response to these changes, the Center for Missional Leadership at Luther Seminary will bring a collection of speakers together for the Eighth Annual Missional Church Consultation on Nov. 9-10. This year’s theme is On the Road to Emmaus: Missional Church and Global Media Cultures.
Consultation attendees can choose to rotate between conversation groups on the Luther Seminary campus or take part in an extended workshop on social media at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis.
The consultation will provide an opportunity to ask: Where are we meeting Jesus in our daily lives? How are media reshaping our relationships, our world and our commitments to reaching out to share the Good News? Can we trust our “hearts burning within us?”
This conference is for more than pastors. Scholars, professors, mission directors, social media mavens and anyone interested in faith formation is welcome.
With the hope that the church’s future holds great promise, participants will consider the church’s current context and imagine ways of moving forward.
