Have you ever noticed that the great hymn, “I Love to Tell the Story,” doesn’t actually tell the story of Jesus? It just refers to the story “of Jesus and his love.” There was a time when all the church had to do was refer to the story. It could trust that most people knew the basic story of Jesus. That world is gone. What now?
It is obvious: The church must re-learn how to tell the story to those who “have never heard the message of salvation from God’s own holy word.”
Join faculty members Gracia Grindal, Rolf Jacobson, Craig Koester and Walter Sundberg as they explore the importance of the story in Christian mission and new ways to tell the old, old story in a new, new time.
Telling the Old, Old Story in a New, New Time runs from March 11-13 on the Luther Seminary campus. For more information and to register, visit us online.
