Andrew S. Burgess Lecture in Global Mission
Oct. 14, 4 p.m.
Chapel of the Incarnation
Philip Jenkins, distinguished professor of history at Baylor University, will give a lecture titled “Four Horsemen: The Catastrophic Four Years That Remade the World’s Religions” for this annual lecture series on global mission and the Christian tradition.
“We live in a time of historic shift in Christianity—the shift of Christianity’s center of gravity to the global south,” said Global Mission Institute Director Robera Battal. “Philip Jenkins, a world-renowned scholar on global Christianity, will examine this shift and explore its meanings and implications for mission. Additionally Dr. Jenkins will focus on the nature of global Christianity and trace its birth to the years of World War I.”
