Wee Care Day Care is looking for an energetic, compassionate, caring individual to assist the lead teacher in the preschool classroom. The hours would be flexible M-F. We are looking for energetic guys and gals who enjoy the outdoors and like to work in a fun environment. Immediate openings are available on the campus grounds crew. This job requires no traveling. You can wear your grubbies and work with a great team of students and staff.
Many different tasks are done by the grounds crew including mowing, trimming, moving boxes and furniture, raking and snow removal. A variety of tasks need to be done daily.

Edgcumbe Presbyterian Church, in the Highland Park area of St. Paul, is looking for a person to assist in teaching Sunday School to our youth each Sunday during the sermon time. We are a small church, (approx. 45 people on any given Sunday), but we are growing and it seems that each week we are welcoming more and more children into our Sunday School program (yeah!). Details: One service each Sunday, approximately 20 minutes class time, $15.00 per Sunday. The ideal candidate will have a strong Christian faith and enjoy working with children. The Lutheran Coalition for Public Policy in Minnesota seeks self-motivated, enthusiastic individuals to develop advocacy and education campaigns centered on issues of social and economic justice. Possible topics include hunger, the environment, health care, and children's issues. Interns will use these initiatives to educate constituencies and encourage grassroots advocacy. In addition, opportunities exist to interact at the legislative level for the 2009 session. Volunteers are always needed! Please call us so we can put your talents and skills to good work!
The Lutheran Coalition for Public Policy in Minnesota is one of 19 state advocacy offices of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Our Mission Statement reads, "Lutheran Coalition for Public Policy in Minnesota, in response to God's love, seeks to engage all people of faith in the promotion of public policy that supports peace, justice and care for all of God's creation."
Specific Areas of Need (multiple internships available):
● Policy – Attend local meetings with collaborating partners to plan and prepare for the 2009 state legislative session; Track state and federal bills and develop communications on local impacts of policies; Understand connection between policies and ELCA social values; Work with coalition partners to message action alerts for citizens to engage in grassroots advocacy.
● Hunger – Coordinate training events and facilitate Hunger 101 workshops around the state that raise awareness and a strong call to action to address the root causes of food insecurity in Minnesota. Participate in meetings with our collaborators (Partners to End Hunger).
● Advocacy – Work as a grassroots organizer specifically with Lutheran congregations across the state to increase advocacy; Work with synod partners to explore opportunities for education, awareness, and action; Attend meetings with collaborating partners to plan and prepare for upcoming state legislative sessions.
● Information Technology Support – Manage and update the LCPPM website; Assist in the organization and management of our member database and e-Advocacy program through the ELCA; Prepare and send out action alerts.
● Research and Communications – Write policy briefs, issue updates, and event announcements; Develop articles for synod newsletters, websites, and local media to promote advocacy opportunities and engage people of faith in current news relevant to LCPPM.
● Creation Care – Assist members of Lutheran churches in becoming active in local policy and social action efforts to care for creation; Develop options and ways for people to integrate their faith with their desire to see social change.
Interns will gain valuable first-hand experience in planning advocacy initiatives and working with leaders in the field. We are not located across the street from the State Capitol by accident! Flexible scheduling is available. Positions open immediately.

YouthWorks is a nonprofit Christian faith based organization that's core purpose is to "help the Church be the Church by providing life changing, Christ centered resources for ministry."
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Executive Support Associate is responsible for providing administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of YouthWorks and the Executive Director of the YouthWorks Foundation, and administrative support within the YouthWorks office.
Administrative Support to Executives- Typing correspondence, reports and other documents for the executives listed above.
- Communications: placing or responding to phone calls, letters or e-mails
- Setting up meetings, travel arrangements, and conference calls
- General office: copying, faxing, filing and distribution of documents
- Perform research on ministry needs as directed
- Recording of expenses incurred by the executives listed above.
- Board of Directors/Trustees: Serve as the Corporate Secretary and facilitate communication from the executives listed above to the Board of Directors of YouthWorks and/or the Board of Trustees of YouthWorks Foundation and related committees, and other YouthWorks related boards.
- Assist in marketing the Foundation to potential grantees, and supporting grantees and potential grantees. Coordinate logistics associated with the Enterprising Ministry Institute and all initiatives of YouthWorks Foundation.
- Community Ministry Fund: Facilitate communication between YouthWorks teams regarding donations, and funding requests.
Other Administrative Support- Serve as a back-up to the primary YouthWorks receptionist
- Assist in making travel arrangements for leadership training retreats and other conferences or meetings.
- Coordinate or assist in coordinating staff functions
- Serve as a coordinator for Board and staff conferences and retreats as assigned.
Additional Tasks
*May be directed to additional tasks which support the ministry of YouthWorks or YouthWorks Foundation.

Faith Mennonite Church (FMC) seeks a person to fill a part-time (8 hours per week), newly-created, Ministry Staff Position. The focus of this position is to extend the ministry of FMC into the surrounding community with a particular emphasis on peacemaking. This position will involve: 1) leading the congregation in choosing one or more opportunities that best match the congregation's gifts, passions, and resources with the needs of the community, including other Twin Cities churches, 2) working with the FMC Missions & Service Commission to develop and implement one or more of these opportunities, and 3) serving as a liaison to community organizations and churches who might be collaborators on said projects. This position will be directly supervised by the pastor and will report to the Missions & Service Commission and the Church Council. This is a one-year position.
The ideal candidate will be someone who
a) is committed to the Mennonite/Anabaptist perspective of biblical peacemaking,
b) has strong written and oral communication skills,
c) combines the skills of creative visioning and practical, organizational work, and
d) is willing to be involved in the congregational life of Faith Mennonite Church, attending Sunday worship at least once per month.

Plan, organize, collaborate on, and execute all routine and special communications for Roseville Lutheran Church (RLC), including visual, written and web. Ensure individual pieces and projects are part of a broader communications strategy that aligns with the ministry objectives of RLC. The Communications Manager will be responsible for creating and managing the progression of a project (timeline) from start to finish.
Responsibilities
Be an active, enthusiastic, day to day member of RLCs leadership staff.
Ensure all print, web and video pieces are well-written, proofed and edited in a way that reflect the heart and soul of the RLC's ministry.
Produce annual cycle of communications pieces including, but not limited to, monthly newsletters, ministry brochures, yearly members/friends directory, posters, banners and signage.
Provide work direction for one or two direct reports and to anyone involved in the overall creation and production of communications pieces.
Set timelines and project plans and ensure that communications projects are completed on time and within budget.
Manage the look, feel and content of the RLC website and ensure it is part of a consistent communication strategy.
Create, maintain and distribute submission guidelines and templates. Ensure all relevant people and groups are trained on the guidelines and on any rules of thumb for effective communication.
Brand all communications to internal and external audiences.
Support pastors and staff in planning, coordinating and executing communications projects.
Recruit and train communication leads for each ministry team (volunteers).
Make recommendations on the design, color and usage of all communications.
Negotiate with communications vendors and retailers on quality, quantity and price.
Manage public relations with special emphasis on developing relationships with community media sources.
Develop and manage a communications budget.
Skills
Competency in graphic design software, particularly Adobe products.
Knowledge of printing, visual layout.
Strong writing and grammar.
Ability to take creative ideas and turn them into a final product.
Knowledge of postal regulations.
