Patricia J. Lull joined the Luther Seminary faculty as Dean of Students in March of 2001. Previously she had served as director for campus ministries for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
Lull earned a bachelor of arts degree in religion from The College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio, in 1974, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with honors. In 1977, she earned a master of divinity from Yale University Divinity School, New Haven, Conn., receiving the Rockefeller Brothers Fellowship.
Lull’s professional experience also includes serving as pastor at Christ Lutheran Church, Athens, Ohio, (1984-1999) and St. Paul Lutheran Church, Alpena, Mich., (1979-1984). In addition, she has recently served as a member of the ELCA-Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Discussion panel (1999-present); an adjunct faculty member of Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio (1999); and a member of the discipline committee for the Southern Ohio Synod of the ELCA (1996-present).
Lull's most recent articles and presentations include: “Hope for Today: Young Adults and the Church,†the keynote presentation and bible study for the Upstate New York Synod Assembly, June 1998; “Confessing Together,†(Lutheran Women Today, March 1994); and “Telling the Truth: Introducing Death and Resurrection to The Young†(Word and World, Winter 1991).
