Biography:

Richard ("Rick") Foss came to Luther Seminary as director of the Contextual Learning in 2008. Previously, he served as bishop for the Eastern North Dakota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), a position he held since 1992.

Following his graduation from St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn. in 1966, Foss earned a Master of Divinity degree at Luther Seminary in 1971 and a Master
