"As someone who grew up without knowing the Christian story, I have a deep passion for equipping leaders to tell that story in ways that touch the lives of people in our society who have not heard it."

As an adult convert raised in a secular home, the Rev. Dr. Dwight Zscheile brings a unique perspective to his new role. "As someone who grew up without knowing the Christian story, I have a deep passion for equipping leaders to tell that story in ways that touch the lives of people in our society who have not heard it," said Zscheile.

Drawn to Luther for his doctoral study, Zscheile decided to stay. "I came because Luther Seminary is much farther ahead than most seminaries in North America in taking seriously the church’s changed context and has been responding in its curriculum, faculty and philosophy in some very exciting ways," he said.

Zscheile is looking forward to working with Luther faculty colleagues as part of the congregational mission and leadership teaching team. "Luther Seminary has positioned itself to be a real leader in global theological education in terms of its engagement with congregations and leadership in a changing world, so I am thrilled to be to be part of the team," he said.
