Meet the Faculty
Our Faculty
Take some time to get to know some of the extraordinary individuals who make up
the Luther Seminary faculty by reviewing their
profiles and biographies.
They are diverse in theology, yet unified in the mission of Luther Seminary
and in their belief in Jesus Christ.
They are teachers whose different teaching styles reflect the many of ways to
effectively spread the gospel.
They are scholars who continually study the Word and works of God, delighting
in them. Most have attained doctorates in their respective fields. They are
respected as leaders in the academic community, frequent presenters at
conferences and religious functions, and active members of international
societies and study groups.
They are pastors who nurture the faith of their students, the future leaders
of the church. They are preachers, imparting the gospel of Christ in their
lectures and through Luther Seminary’s daily chapel services. Their gifts of
ministry have been shared with congregations through ordained service, guest
lectures and presentations, and intense reflection and conversation.
They are visionaries, dreaming of the expanded role the church will play in
society and imagining new ways to reach those who have not yet heard the good
news.
They are prayer partners, devoted servants, keepers of the faith, innovators,
respected authors, hymn- writers and musicians.
They have been blessed by God with these gifts. They share their blessings
with us.

Faculty Spotlight
Paul Lokken Associate Dean of Graduate Theological Education, Lecturer in Systematic Theology
“ I’ve always had a deep and profound interest in theology. But the call to seminary was not logical at all. It’s something that happened to me. I had to respond.”
