Graduating and Past Students

Graduating Students

Students who have received Federal Stafford Loans, Federal Perkins Loans or the Luther Seminary Mourer Loan are required to complete exit counseling.

  • Federal Stafford/Grad PLUS Loans - Student who received Federal Stafford Loans while attending Luther seminary may complete the exit counseling requirement one of two ways. Students may complete the process online by going to www.luthersem.edu/loancounsel and following the links for "Exit Counseling". The Office of Financial Aid will be notified via email for each student that completes the online process. All students must complete the online exit counseling.  Students may also request to meet with the Director of Financial Aid to complete this requirement. This method is highly recommended.   During an in office appointment, students will be provided with a complete summary of all their student loans, this will include loans received at other schools.
  • Federal Perkins Loans - Student who received Federal Perkins Loans while attending Luther seminary may complete the exit counseling requirement one of two ways. Students may complete the process online by going to www.luthersem.edu/loancounsel and following the links for "Exit Counseling". The Office of Financial Aid will be notified via email for each student that completes the online process. Students may also request to meet with the Director of Financial Aid to complete this requirement. This is the preferred method. During an in office appointment students will be provided with a complete summary of all their student loans, this will include loans received at other schools. The information will be in much greater detail than the online version. The servicer (who you pay) for Perkins Loans received while at Luther Seminary will be University Accounting Service.
  • Mourer Loans - Students who received a Mourer Loan while attending Luther Seminary are required to attend an in-office exit counseling session. Because of the partial forgiveness of the Mourer Loan there are a number of details that need to be covered.

The Office of Financial Aid encourages all students to complete their exit counseling with an appointment with the Director of Financial Aid. Much more information can be covered and the appointments are tailored to each students needs.

To make an appointment please contact the Office of Financial Aid at finaid@luthersem.edu.
