   Dempster Graduate Fellowships October 15
Criteria:
The fellowships are open only to members of The United Methodist Church who plan to teach in seminaries, or to teach one of the theological disciplines (Bible, church history, theology, ethics, and the arts of ministry) in universities or colleges.

The applicant must have received the M.Div. degree or its equivalent from one of the United Methodist seminaries, or be in a Ph.D. program or its equivalent at a university affiliated with a United Methodist seminary at the time the award is granted.

Verification of study toward the Ph.D. or equivalent degree is required prior to the distribution of the stipend. A person already holding a Ph.D. degree is not excluded from candidacy. Graduate study by current seminary faculty to meet changing faculty needs will be considered.

Candidacy for ordination as an elder in an annual conference of The United Methodist Church is preferred.

Criteria:
Intended for M.Div candidates who hold membership in a Lutheran Congregation in Wisconsin.

Based on financial need.  Student must be enrolled full-time, and be a candidate for ordination.  Not available for internship.

   Synod of Lakes and Prairies Racial Ethnic Scholarships September 30
Criteria:
Applicants must be racial ethnic students whose permanent residence is within the bounds of the Synod of Lakes and Prairies.

Be an active member in a congregation of the PCUSA, and be studying for preparation for ministry in the PCUSA or in a related ecumenical organization. 

Applicants must be enrolled at least half-time, in good academic standing, making progress toward a degree, and able to demonstrate financial need.

   The Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts March 1 of each year.
Criteria:
Each year the Fellowship awards up to five scholarships for higher education.  The amount varies but it is usually around $1000.  All applicants must be students planning a career in church music and/or worship arts.

   The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans November 1
Criteria:
1. Must be a "Green Card" holder or naturalized citizen or have two parents who are naturalized citizens as of the date of your  application.

2. You may not be older than 30 as of November 1, of the year you are applying.

3. Must be a senior in college or a holder of a bachelor's degree or at present enrolled in a graduate program.  Individuals who are in the third, or subsequent year of study in the same graduate program are not eligible for this competition.

   United Methodist- John Q. Schisler Award February 1
Criteria:
Awarded to citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. who are admitted to a full-time degree program in an accredited college or university.

Graduate award for students enrolled at a University Senate approved theological seminary in Christian education preparing for a career as a lay professional, ordained deacon in full connection, or diaconal minister in a local UMC; must have been a member of the UMC for at least 3 years.

GPA of 2.85+

This graduate award is not for students planning to be an ordained elder.

Awarded to citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. who are admitted to a full-time degree program in an accredited college or university. 

Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or above.

Award for Native American students pursuing a degree at a University Senate- approved seminary. Funded through the Native American Ministries Sunday Offering.

Must have been a member of the UMC for at least 3 years; born of Native American/American Indian/Alaskan Native parentage (at least one parent); documentation of affiliation required; be in candidacy process of ordination; and demonstrate involvement within the Native American community

Applicants must be a certified candidate for ordination as an elder in the UMC and have successfully completed first year of seminary; GPA of 2.85+.

Be an active, full member of the UMC for at least 1 year; and a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.

This scholarship is derived from a will, and preference is given for persons from the Missouri East and West Annual Conferences; however, all who meet other requirements will be considered.

   United Methodist- Rosalie Bentzinger Scholarship February 1
Criteria:
Awarded to citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. who are admitted to a full-time degree program in an accredited college or university. 

Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or above.

This scholarship is designed to recognize a UM student pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Christian education in a graduate theological institution.

Applicants must be active, full members of the UMC for at least 3 years; be a member in good standing as a deacon in full connection, diaconal minister, or deaconess; be accepted for doctoral study in a University Senate-approved school of theology, full time; and have a B+ academic average.

Criteria:
Awarded to citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. who are admitted to a full-time degree program in an accredited college or university.  Must be active, full members of a United Methodist Church for at least one year prior to applying.  Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or above.

Student must be pursuing ordained ministry as a vocation; be under 30 years of age (unless applicant is a renewal); be attending a UM-related seminary or school of theology; and in pursuit of an M.Div. degree.

   United Methodist- Women of Color Scholars Program February 1
Criteria:
Awarded to citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. who are admitted to a full-time degree program in an accredited college or university. 

Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or above.

The goals of this program are to remedy the lack of women of color on faculties at UM seminaries; to increase the number of women of color who teach, lecture, write and research at the Ph.D. level in all seminaries; and to heighten church wide awareness of the need for women of color in theological education.

Applicants must be born of African, African-American, Asian, Hispanic, Native American/Alaskan Indian, or Pacific Island parentage (at least one parent); be an active, full member of the UMC for at least 3 years prior to application; have received an M.Div. degree; and be pursuing a Ph.D. or Th.D. within the field of Religious Studies with the desire to serve on the faculty or in an executive administrative position at a UM theological school.
