Luther Seminary FRIENDS
The Luther Seminary FRIENDS is a group of more than 200 people from Twin Cities area congregations who support and minister to the seminary through prayer, financial gifts, and as volunteers. Its governing board meets six times a year.
Events
The FRIENDS sponsor three annual events:
Proceeds from these events, plus membership contributions, provide scholarships to seminary students.
Scholarships
The FRIENDS of Luther Seminary have provided support to seminary students since 1940. The FRIENDS Endowed Scholarship, formally established in 1988, is awarded to two U.S. and two international students each year.
The purpose of the FRIENDS Endowed Scholarship fund is to give financial support to students. The annual distribution from this fund is to be awarded to deserving student(s) as determined by the Financial Aid Office in accordance with policies and practices of Luther Seminary.
Be a volunteer!
In addition to financial support for students, the FRIENDS volunteer on Wednesday and work on a variety of projects — everything from stuffing envelopes and packets to making party favors. It's a great way to stay involved with the seminary, and enjoy the cheerful company of good friends.
