"Pedagogy of the Poor: Building the movement to end poverty"
Willie Baptist & John Wessel-McCoy
Poverty Initiative, Union Theological Seminary
in the City of New York
The video of the discussion will soon be online
On April 16th, 2013 Willie Baptist and John Wessel-McCoy from the Poverty Initiative at Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York participated in a presentation and panel discussion regarding their work in the fight to end poverty.
Local voices joining them in this important conversation included Rev. Patricia Lull, Executive Director, St. Paul Council of Churches, Vivian Jenkins Nelson, Senior Fellow at Augsburg College, and Dr. Gary Simpson, Luther Seminary, offering critical reflection in conversation with Willie and John; the resulting discussion was engaged, informing, and moving.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this event possible, including Dr. Mary Hess, VOCA:Gospel & Justice (Student Group), The Global Mission Institute at Luther Seminary, our panel speakers, and especially our friends at the Poverty Initiative, in particular Willie and John.
We are pleased to make available a video/audio recording of the event. Please be advised that there is some use of “spicy” language during the discussion.
