International Student Community
Presently,
Luther Seminary welcomes 55 international students in a
variety of programs from 21 different countries. Several church denominations are represented. Most of these students
live on the campus and a few study from abroad. The
Office of
International Student Services (OISS)
walks students through all aspects of their studies here as well as
upholding federal regulations. The Coordinator for International Student Services,
Marie Hayes, is the primary source of information and decision
making. The
Global Mission Institute works closely with the OISS to encourage
international students by:
-
Providing hospitality and assisting in cultural integration for
international students, scholars, guests, and their families.
-
Coordinating international student activities and events together
with the Office of International Student Services and international student representatives elected by the international
student community.
-
Connecting international students to the community through area
events and speaking/preaching opportunities in congregations.
-
Connecting national and international students for fellowship and
educational opportunities.
-
Planning social and educational opportunities for all students to
learn (or teach) about the global church.
