Mexico City Semester Program

Sept. 3 - Dec. 11, 2009

MDiv and MA students from all ELCA seminaries are invited to spend the fall semester of theological study and cultural immersion in Mexico City through a program sponsored by Luther Seminary. Apply today!

Entrance to the Lutheran Center

The ELCA Lutheran Center in Mexico City, Mexico, serves as the primary residence, with regular excursions into the community. Classes are taught at the ELCA Lutheran Center and in the surrounding area by international theological faculty (see course descriptions). Randy Nelson, Professor Emeritus of Contextual Education at Luther Seminary, will serve in an advisory role as the professor-in-residence for the fall semester. He will be onsite for one week during each month of the semester program.

Proficiency in the Spanish language is highly desirable but not required.  Students are encouraged to participate in the optional Spanish Language for Ministry program prior to the semester. An additional Spanish language course will also be taught throughout the semester.

Semester program fees include tuition, room and board. Additional fees include round-trip airline ticket to Mexico City, seminary health insurance and Spanish Language for Ministry program (if participating). Financial Aid is available for Luther Seminary students as it would be for on-campus study.  Contact the Luther Seminary Financial Aid Office for more information. Students from other ELCA seminaries should contact their financial aid offices.
