Director's Corner

Easter greetings from the Global Mission Institute!

Significant changes and exciting transitions continue to take place at the GMI. The long-awaited office move has finally happened! The new GMI office is still located in Northwestern Hall, but it can now be found on the lower level, in Room 110B. As I move on to the next chapter of my life, I plan to finish my term as interim director of the GMI at the end of June. I encourage you to stay in touch with the GMI and to watch for developments and news concerning its future.

As we anticipate Commencement in May, we're excited for the 19 international students who will be completing their studies and training at Luther Seminary. We are also eager to welcome our next president the Rev. Dr. Robin Steinke, who will begin her tenure on June 1. She is a globally-minded leader and one with a deep knowledge of the global church through her involvement in the Lutheran World Federation and the World Council of Churches.

As the GMI continues to undergo many changes, I ask that you continue to support and keep the GMI in your prayers.

May God bless you!

Robera D. Battal, GMI Interim Director
