Director's Corner

Welcome to Global Vision Online!

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

With this issue of Global Vision we enter a new phase in getting out the word on what your Global Mission Institute is up to. Welcome to the new electronic version of the Global Vision newsletter.

We at the GMI feel that this offering is not only a better use of our financial resources, but will also extend the reach of our newsletter to supporters and alumni/ae in the U.S. and internationally.

Check it out!

We invite you to browse through our new Web pages and take advantage of the newer media and news opportunities.

You can:

  • Watch video of Greg Mortenson, humanitarian and author of "Three Cups of Tea" while he was on campus during Mid-Winter Convocation
  • Follow the China cross cultural trip blog
  • Read an interview with Rev. Paul Gao Feng, '97, president of the China Christian Council
  • Read a Q&A with Visiting Schiotz Professor, Dr. Nalini Arles

More to come!

Other initiatives are in the works that will help provide much-needed archival and research support for faculty and students of our international partners. Look for more information on these developments in future updates.

Prayers

We are all experiencing concerns about the financial situation of our world and nation.

We continue to treasure your prayers and support as we seek new ways to effectively promote missional consciousness at the seminary and around the world. These new initiatives will go some way toward achieving this goal.

Please continue to keep the GMI and our international students, faculty and alumni/ae in your prayers. Also, consider how you may be able to help in these trying times.

Again, check out our newly designed Web site at: www.luthersem.edu/gmi.
