Next Day

This hymn has become my favorite new hymn -- for its Gaelic lilt and its inclusive language. It expresses a hope that justice will reign with God's mercy.

What might "the world is about to turn" mean? God in Christ has and continues to do great things. The world is about to turn to a new chapter where God's love, grace and justice will cover us all.

God, may each of us be about the work of being a part of the turning of your world. Amen.

"Canticle of the Turning," ELW 723

The words to the hymn in today's devotion cannot be printed because the hymn is copyrighted. While we are not able to publish it online, you can find the hymn in ELW 723. Thank you for your understanding.

This week's devotions are offered by a Luther Seminary alum from the graduating class of 1997.
