The program of graduate studies at Luther Seminary stands as a sign of our commitment to the future of theological education and the future of the Christian church. Today's church requires leaders; so does tomorrow’s.
The seminary prepares doctors of ministry and doctors of philosophy who will not only do their own work of teaching, proclaiming, and applying the Christian tradition, but also develop the next generation of Christian leaders.
Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.)
The D.Min. program is focused on congregational leaders in their own contexts. D.Min. students receive a rigorous and supportive program of advanced professional study by which to further their vocational development.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
Luther's graduate research program invites applicants who have the academic ability and the theological passion to delve deeply into all aspects of the Christian faith in order to enrich their own ministries, to present the gospel faithfully and creatively in a rapidly changing world, and to accept the challenge of preparing others to do the same.
NOTE: New admissions to the Ph.D. program have been suspended until further notice, beginning with the 2013-14 academic year.
