The Hein-Fry lecture topic for 2010 is "Hearing the Word: Teaching the Bible in the Parish and Beyond." This theme is designed to explore the various ways that diverse Lutheran communities teach biblical stories, truths and gospel messages.

The lectures will raise awareness about the many traditional and innovative contemporary ways that Lutheran churches teach the Bible.

The annual Hein-Fry Lectures identify key theological issues facing the church. The lectures are designed to stimulate inquiry and discussion at the eight ELCA seminaries and throughout the church.

The lectures are free and open to the public.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America sponsors the Hein-Fry Lecture Series. For more information, call 651-641-3451.
