Book purchasing resumed in July

The library paused book purchasing in January 2013 in order to contribute to the cash flow and budget situation. We built up a good number of book orders over the spring and early summer which will flood the “New Book” shelves in the coming weeks. The library plans to resume regular purchasing materials throughout the new fiscal year.

Gullixson accessibility (elevator) project

This is a fully-funded building project to make the library and the floors of Gulllixson physically accessible prior to the decommissioning of an existing library elevator (December 2014) and the ATS accreditation visit (March 2015). Two architectural firms presented initial drawings in late July and the winning firm, ESG is beginning a process to develop construction documents and fully estimate costs. We will have some opportunities over the early Fall to engage the broader community in the planning. Final plans will likely go to the board in February for approval before the loudest part of the construction begins in May.

New copier

With the end of an expensive copier lease, the library has a new copier located in the Catalog Room. Copies are 10 cents per page to be paid at the circulation desk. You can only scan to email at this point but you don't have to scan to a Luther email.
