Borrowing PoliciesViewing your Borrower Record OnlineViewing your record online allows you to check due dates, renew items before they become overdue, and view holds & fine information. To view your record, click on My Library Account on the library home page. Enter your 14-digit barcode number and last name. Click "Login" or press Enter. Holds & RecallsAll borrowers may put a hold on an item by contacting the circulation desk by phone: 651.641.3447 or email: libcirc@luthersem.edu Requested items are eligible for recall after 4 weeks. Items may be recalled for course reserves at any time. If you receive a recall notice, items must be returned promptly. Library Use via U.S. MailIf you are a distance learner or Extension borrower and live outside the 7 county metro area, you may request that items be sent to you via the U.S. Postal Service. Simply call the circulation desk at 651.641.3447 or email libcirc@luthersem.edu to place your request. Items are mailed at book rate, postage reimbursement requested. ReturnsWhen the library is closed, the book drop at the front door of Gullixson Hall is unlocked and items may be returned there. During library hours, items must be returned to the circulation desk. Non-Circulating MaterialThe following items do not circulate and may be used only within the library.
Suspension of PrivilegesBorrowing privileges may be temporarily suspended in the event of overdue items, fines in excess of $5.00, or lost items. Borrowing privileges will resume as soon as the account is cleared. Lost ItemsLost items should be reported immediately to the library. Unless reported, the fine will continue to accumulate as though overdue. Borrowers are expected to pay for lost or damaged materials ($35 replacement charge plus a $10.00 service charge per item). If a lost item is then found and returned promptly, all but the service charge will be waived. Do I qualify for borrowing privileges?If you are not currently a student, you may qualify to be an Extension borrower if you meet one of the following criteria:
If you meet one of these criteria and would like to establish privileges, please stop by the library between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Fines: There are no overdue fines for faculty. Reimbursement is expected for lost items. Students of Consortium Schools Two ways to borrow: 1. InterLibrary Loan: Students of Bethel Seminary, Saint Paul Seminary, and United Theological Seminary may request items from Luther through their own library. 2. In person: A student of a consortium seminary must present a current student I.D. in order to check out material. Loan periods:

Fines: For Extension Borrowers, we assess overdue fines at the rate of $.10 per item per day. There is a grace period of one week. On the eighth day, fine accrual begins with the first date overdue. |
