Suspension of Privileges
Borrowing privileges may be temporarily suspended in the event of overdue items, fines in excess of $5.00, or lost items. Borrowing privileges resume as soon as the account is cleared.
Lost Items
Lost items should be reported immediately to the library. Unless reported, fines will continue to accumulate as though overdue.
Borrowers are expected to pay for lost or damaged materials ($35 replacement charge plus a $10.00 service charge per item). If a lost item is then found and returned promptly, all but the service charge will be waived.
Do I qualify for borrowing privileges?
If you are not currently a student, you may qualify to be an Extension borrower if you meet one of the following criteria:
- You are a graduate of Luther Seminary or one of its predecessor institutions.
- You are Lutheran clergy residing anywhere in the United States.
- You are a pastor or church worker (not a volunteer) of any denomination/church body in the 7-county metro area.
If you meet one of these criteria and would like to establish privileges, please stop by the library between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. (Directions) If you are unable to come in during those hours or if you are uncertain if you qualify, please contact the Circulation Desk during those same hours at 651-641-3447 or libcirc@luthersem.edu
If I don’t have borrowing privileges, can I still use the library?
