Desert Spirituality for Everyday Life
This course centers on the spirituality of the Early Church, the most famous of which is desert spirituality. It is both biblical and theological. It is a spirituality that is ancient and at the same time speaks to us today because it is based on Scripture; it is practical and full of wisdom.
Living Gracefully—Managing Anxiety in Congregational, Community and Pastoral Life
This course is a conversation about the anxiety and stress generated by controversy, crisis and conflict in Christian community. This course will apply systems theory to shepherd strong emotions and manage difficult conversations. The focus of conversation will be to manage your own reactivity in the light of others' emotional excess. You will also learn how to screen the congregation to identify those who lower anxiety and function with maturity.
