TheoProbe XXX continues the holistic practice of scholarship, physical exercise, free time, worship, collegiality and relaxation in the splendor of the Colorado Rockies. Your day begins with breakfast, worship, and a one-hour presentation on relevant biblical readings; it then continues with free time for downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, and lounging around. In late afternoon, we gather for fellowship, an evening meal, another one-hour presentation followed by question/answer/discussion time, and evening worship. We invite you to join us in feeding your mind and ministry, being refreshed, connecting with longtime friends and meeting new ones.
Professor Frank Benz will examine and review five major crises in the history of Ancient Israel, using biblical sources to note the context, features and outcome of the crises. From these probes we will draw insights into lessons for life and ministry today. As God was with the ancient Hebrews in their crises, how is God with us in ours? Dr. Todd Murken will lead five sessions on the Practice of the Means of Grace. This short course in pastoral theology explores how the theological affirmations of the offered grace can enhance in a practical way people's reception of the gifts and hence increase in their lives the blessed consequences of the means of grace.
