Emotional
Intelligence and Human Relations Skills
This is an intensive and highly experiential one-week course, with
the major amount of time spent in small groups of eight to 12 people
with two experienced facilitators in each group. As group life unfolds,
participants are offered feedback on the impact they have on others in
the group. Participants will learn about their intrapersonal EQ
(emotional quotient), their interpersonal EQ, their intra-group EQ,
stress management EQ, adaptability EQ and their general mood EQ. The
content of the course will focus on four areas of emotional
intelligence: self awareness, self management, social awareness and
social skills. As part of this workshop, participants will be asked to
complete a comprehensive survey on emotional intelligence. They will
also be asked to identify up to 20 people who know them well and who
will complete the same survey on them. What results is a 30-page
printout of one's EQ.

it will touch and transform us? How can we help each other become more
fluent in Scripture and experience God's life-changing promise more
fully? We hope you will join us Jan. 13-15 as we focus on how faith
communities interpret and understand the promise of the Gospel that is
at the heart of Scripture.

Discover Your Call—Dependable Strengthsâ
for Congregations
Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center, Carefree,
Ariz.
Are people in your congregation asking the big questions—questions like
"How do I know what I was created to be?" "Where are the places that I
can make a difference in the world?" Where can I experience a sense of
belonging?" Discover Your Call workshops use the Dependable Strengthsâ
process to invite people to reflect on positive experiences from their
lives, to tell their stories and to discern together what God is calling
them to be. Unlike most gifts-identification processes, Discover Your
Call helps people see how God calls them to ministry in their homes,
communities and workplaces, as well as in their congregations. In this
Train-the-Trainer course, you will learn how to lead Discover Your Call
workshops in your own congregation.
