A Journey to Turkey and Greece

This 12-day study tour departs the Twin Cities on April 5-16, 2008.

The trip will include visits to Istanbul, Troy, Assos, Izmir, Pergamon, Sardis, Ephesus, Patmos, Crete, Santorini, Corinth, and Athens, as well as a two night Greek Island cruise.

Rev. Sethre has led 4 previous trips to Turkey and Greece. The trip is organized and arranged through CrossingBorders, which has arranged educational tours for 24 years.

Looking for Paul in All the Right Places
A Cultural Tour of the Apostle’s World

This 12-day study tour departs the Twin Cities on May 12 , 2008, and is co-led by:

  • Dr. David Fredrickson
    Professor of New Testament, Luther Seminary
  • Fr. John Kostas
    Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

The program has been created to learn about:

  • The social world of St. Paul through ancient art and architecture
  • The significance of Paul in the opening centuries of the Christian church in Greece
  • Shared theological convictions of Lutheranism and Orthodoxy

Destinations include:

  • Thessaloniki
  • Philippi
  • Vergina
  • Meteora
  • Delphi
  • Olympia
  • Corinth
  • Athens
