STEWARDSHIP LEADERS SEMINAR

Stewardship leaders in congregations around the Twin Cities are invited to take part in Luther Seminary's Stewardship Leaders Seminar featuring Terry Parsons, director of diocesan services for the Episcopal Church in America. Parsons will give two presentations, titled "Seven Secrets to AMAZING Stewardship" and "Will Our Children Be Stewards?" The May 4 event is hosted by Luther's Center for Stewardship Leadership and will include dinner.
Parsons is described by Jerry Hoffman, director of Luther Seminary's Center for Stewardship Leaders, as "an engaging presenter who peppers her talks with humor and illustrative stories. Those who hear her walk away with smiles on their faces, new ideas in their minds and more determination to do the work God is calling us to do."
In describing her role as director of diocesan services, Parsons says, "If stewardship is using the gifts God has given us to do the work God is calling us to do, this is an opportunity to find new ways to do that."
Prior to becoming director of diocesan services in 2008, Parsons worked as a stewardship consultant to the Episcopal Church. In that role, she worked with multiple congregations and dioceses of varying sizes throughout the country on topics ranging from annual giving to capital campaigns. She has also led workshops for the Presbyterian Church of Canada; served as the theological leaders for the annual retreat of the General Cabinet of the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ; and presented at philanthropy and stewardship conferences in the United States, Canada and England.
The Stewardship Leaders Seminar will be held May 4 at Luther Seminary. Seminar attendees will gather at 4 p.m. with Parsons giving her first presentation at 4:30. The conference will end at approximately 9 p.m. The cost for the seminar, including dinner, is $35. Those attending Luther Seminary's KAIROS class Talk, Walk, Lead: Equipping Stewardship Leaders, held May 4-8, may attend the Stewardship Leaders Seminar at no extra cost.
