Cohort
We believe formation happens through community. As part of a cohort of 12 to 20 students, you will learn in the company of your peers throughout the program. Surrounded and supported by colleagues, you will develop your theological and pastoral identity, and the relationships formed will continue beyond the weeks of a semester, the months of the academic year, and the years of the Master of Divinity degree.
Although you will be on campus for only short periods of time, you will find yourself immersed in the following community experiences:
- Online classes: Assignments in online classes will expose you to the work and thoughts of students within and beyond your cohort and will include collaboration through group projects.
- On-campus intensives: During the January and June intensives, you will take several hours of class together each day and experience the community life that only dormitories can offer.
- Local congregations: You will learn in the context of a community of faith and meet monthly to reflect on your experiences with other members of the cohort.
- MyLutherNet: Through the online forum that functions much like the sidewalks of the campus, the tables in the dining room, or the lounges of campus dorms, you can share prayer requests, jokes, reminders, and general time together.
