The Missional Church and Global Civil Society:
Helping Congregations Engage as Public Church
The Fourth Annual Consultation on the Mission Church
Nov. 7-8, 2008
What God is doing through global civil society
provides new opportunities for local missional congregations to
engage their communities and indeed the world as public companions
with God in this emerging global civil society work. Now is a
critical time for missional church leaders and teachers to reflect
more deeply on these global phenomena. Join us in conversation
around these topics at Luther Seminary Nov. 7-8.
Why You Should Attend
- Bring together theological scholars with denominational and
church leaders around themes related to the missional church.
- Move the missional church agenda forward in
biblical-theological areas and in the social sciences.
- Develop research papers through a collaborative process to
serve as the focal point of presentation and discussion at each
consultation.
- Publish a volume of essays, using each year's consultation
papers, to further define and extend the conversation regarding
the missional church.
