Job Description:
Lutherans Outdoors in SD is seeking and exceptional leader to serve as Camp Director for Outlaw Ranch and Atlantic Mountain Ranch.
The Camp Director is responsible for the management and continued development of Outlaw and Atlantic Mountain Ranches - both located near Custer in the Black Hills of SD. The main functions include:
- all aspects of staff supervision and camp operations
- overseeing development/delivery of program, seeking to meet needs of users
- developing and fostering ongoing relationships with our users/potential users including marketing and financial development
The camp director is also to see that Christian theology consistent with that of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is modeled in all programs and to provide for spiritual renewal of staff. Required skills and qualities include: being knowledgeable in issues, practices, and procedures in providing top quality outdoor ministry experiences; exudes energy - a "people person"; excellent speaking skills; presents a positive public image; a "servant leader" mentality; good driving record, insurable by LO insurance company; the ability to travel on a regular basis, including overnight travel; bachelor's degree + 4 years successful management experience; active member in good standing in an ELCA congregation, demonstrating an understanding of ELCA theology.
