The Art of Forgiveness: Images of the Prodigal
Son
featuring Jerry Evenrud's Prodigal Son Collection
Luther Seminary is the home of a remarkable collection of artwork
based on the Prodigal Son parable. Jerry Evenrud, a lifelong arts
enthusiast, donated this collection to the seminary in 2007.
Before it came to its permanent home, however, the collection
went on the road. It was hosted for several months by the
Museum of Biblical Art
(MOBIA) in New York City. To celebrate the event, Luther
Seminary coordinated a festive reception for the opening of the
MOBIA showing.
In March of 2008, the Prodigal Son exhibit returned to Luther
Seminary. Future events planned around the exhibit will be announced
here.

Jerry Evenrud, whose life-long passion for the
Prodigal Son parable and its power to instruct our faith, also has a
sense of humor about his penchant for collecting. His license plate
reads, "Luke 15," the Gospel and chapter where the
parable is found. He also has an extensive collection of pig
knickknacks and paraphernalia, many of which he has received
over the years as gifts. |
