Transcript Requests
In accordance with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) guidelines, all requests for transcripts must be in writing and must include a signature. A written request from the student with the student's signature must be sent to the Office of the Registrar in order to release a transcript of an academic record. Fax, email, and verbal transcript requests are NOT possible because of the federal laws governing the release of student records. For more information on this law - commonly known as FERPA - see the Student Handbook or go to
Luther Seminary - Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
.
There is a $10.00 per transcript copy fee.
(If you were enrolled in both a graduate program and a post-graduate program, you will have two separate transcripts. Therefore, $20 must accompany a request for release of both.) Fees MUST be included with your written request. The Business Office does not bill for transcripts. Money Orders from outside the US
cannot
be accepted due to processing fees incurred here. Please include only US money or domestic checks.
A transcript will NOT be released when a student has a Business Office hold placed on their academic record.
Allow ONE TO TWO WEEKS for processing. Transcripts will only be mailed via regular US Mail. We are unable to fax or Fed-Ex transcripts.
Consortium Doctor of Ministry students should note that requests for transcripts should come to Luther Seminary (see address below). In addition, Consortium DMIN students should allow extra time for processing.
All transcripts released to the student will be stamped "Issued to Student" unless the student requests the transcripts to be issued in a sealed envelope. These transcripts bear the Luther Seminary seal; they are official transcripts. This stamp simply advises a third party that you had personal possession of the "Issued to Student" transcript.
